Goodbye Poems
Having to say goodbye to a loved one is one of the most difficult
things in life. We care deeply about our friends, and family, we don’t
like to be parted from them. Very few of us feel complete as human
beings apart from the people that we love. Poets over the years have
sought to capture the beauty and sadness in goodbye poems. These poems
can be very meaningful to us during times when we have to be separated
by those that we love.
 It can be a difficult struggle as our hearts
come to terms with saying goodbye to someone that we love. Our thoughts
may be mingled with thoughts of fear, rejection, abandonment or dozens
of other emotions. To capture these difficult feelings has been the
lofty goal of many goodbye poems. There are many times in our lives
when we will have to say goodbye to loved ones. A friend may be going on
a long trip or moving away permanently. A child may be moving off to
college. All of the goodbyes that we have to say in life are difficult.
The most difficult goodbyes are saying farewell to those we love when
they are dying. None of us wants to lose someone that we love
permanently, but it is an unfortunate fact of life. During these times
of loss saying goodbye poems can offer bittersweet consolation to us as

Marie Schmidt captures the sadness of saying goodbye to a loved one that
has passed away. Angel offers the perspective of the departed loved on

We'll be together again someday” Saying goodbye is never easy. It is difficult for any of us to truly
capture the many feelings that swirl around us during these moments of
separation. Surely we would love to live in an ideal world where we
never have to say goodbye to those that we love. As it is, in this life
we will have to say goodbye to people that we care deeply for.
 It is a
wonderful consolation in times of loss to have some of the beautiful
goodbye poems available to us. A poem that captures what we are feeling
can be like the welcome embrace of a friend. These goodbye poems can
help us to know that even though we have to temporarily be apart from
those that we love, we can always carry our love and affection for them,
in our hearts, wherever we go. Goodbye poems can be a very welcome
source of comfort as we say farewell to friends or loved ones.
